About us daisyroots.net and The Daisyroots Book Shop are part of Direct Image Productions Limited, a registered UK company.
Direct Image is a small, family company owned Chris and Elaine Ware. Chris has a background in film and television production. Elaine is a writer. We have been selling books since 1974, having run a small second-hand bookshop in the historic Lake District town of Kendal for 22 years. In 2006 we opened our Book shop in Grange over Sands .We have notched up 17 years experience in mail-order - selling our own training video programmes to schools, colleges and outdoor groups across the UK and abroad. Since the year 2000 we have been working on perfecting our trading on the Internet.
Our aim is to give you a secure and successful e-commerce experience. To do this we run our ‘virtual bookshops’ using the same exacting criteria we applied to our real bookshop, and utilise our mail-order trading expertise for a smooth, hassle free transaction.
OUR TRADING POLICY
Products Are passion and our business is books. We want to share our pleasure in books with you.
For your enjoyment we stock carefully selected new books, videos and DVDs and pre-owned books.
All our pre-owned books are clean and well presented. So you can buy with confidence, we always to endeavour to accurately describe their condition, e.g. any marks, annotations, tears or creases.
To avoid your disappointment, we ONLY sell items we actually hold in stock. We never undertake to sell items for any third party.
If for any reason you are unhappy with any of the products we supply or the service you have received please contact us, we will make every effort to resolve any difficulties.
Dispatch and Delivery Your order is packaged in the very latest in corrugated card packing technology – this is both environmentally friendly and ensures the optimum protection in transit.
Orders are dispatched on the day payment is received, except Sundays and Bank Holidays when orders are dispatched on the next working day.
Post Parcels dispatched to the UK and Europe
Video sets (Hillcraft) and high value items are always dispatched in the UK by Special Delivery (next day, signed for). This option can be requested for any other item subject to a two kilo ceiling.
International post is usually sent by airmail, unless surface mail is specifically requested. Surface mail is a cheaper, slower option useful for very heavy items, please ask for a quote.
Parcel Tracking & Insurance Standard Royal Mail Parcels (Parcel Post) use a tracking number system so parcels can be traced from the point of dispatch to delivery. For your additional protection, we also obtain a certificate of postage for every item we dispatch.
If you require your item to be insured in transit, please email for a quote.
Payment
DIRECT IMAGE PRODUCTIONS LIMITED, Grange over Sands.
We do not hold your credit / debit card information on our computers. All transactions are processed through a secure server.
Personal information Your personal information is never divulged to any other company or party. Occasionally, we may e-mail you with promotional information relating to our e-trading divisions, daisyroots.net, and The Ware’s House.
Returns New books, videos, & DVDs In the unlikely event of a new video, DVD or new book being found to be faulty, we request that the item be returned to us in unused and clean condition within 10 days of our dispatch / invoice date. We will replace like with like.
Pre-owned books Naturally we cannot guarantee to be able to replace these often rare or out-of-print items. However, if books do not meet with our published description in any way we will refund the purchase price, excluding postage, providing you have contacted us by e-mail or phone to advise us of your intention to return the item, and the book is returned safely packaged and in its original condition within 10 days of our dispatch / invoice date.
